Building on that foundation, we’ve made design improvements to exhaust pipes for a wide range of General Motors SUVs from Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC. Two key SKUs have been redesigned to strengthen durability, improve fitment and support long-term performance.
Redesigned for Better Flex & Fitment
Recently, Walker implemented a key improvement to the OE design of part number 73128 to address a known issue where the mounting bracket on the front exhaust pipe could separate from the pipe. Under normal engine movement and vibration, the original design didn’t provide enough flex, which placed excess stress on the bracket connection point over time.
To enhance long-term durability and ensure reliable performance, the Walker engineering team introduced additional flex into the pipe assembly. This revised design allows the pipe to better accommodate natural engine motion, reducing stress at the bracket and helping prevent separation. The result is a more robust, real-world-ready exhaust pipe that maintains proper support and alignment throughout the vehicle’s operating conditions.
